Student Awards and Funding

MASc Students

MASC students may receive funding from one or more of the following internal sources * :

  • research stipend (negotiated between the student and the supervisor);
  • Teaching Assistantship ($2500+/course)
  • School of Graduate Studies Scholarship ($4,000 - $12,000 per year);
  • Computer Networks Program Scholarship ($1,000 - $3,000 per year).

* If you have applied for an Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) and/or a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council Scholarship (NSERC) or any other external funding and are successful, you must accept the external award since it is the policy of this University to accept external scholarships wherever possible. In such instances, you are not eligible for any internal scholarships or awards.

MEng Students

There is no funding for our domestic or international MEng students. Domestic MEng students may apply for OSAP student loans. For detailed information please contact Ryerson's Student Financial Aid Office. There are also 10 Academic Performance Awards, worth $2,000 each, available to MEng students each year. These awards are offered to MEng students, who have the highest GPA (Grade Point Average) and have completed 7 or more courses in the program by the end of the Winter term. The recipients of the awards will be announced in May each year.
